Revenue Region No. 5, Caloocan City of the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) today officially put into motion the construction of its Document Processing Division (DPD) building with the laying of the structure’s cornerstone.
The five-storey edifice will be built at the back of regional office located at No. 140 Barrio Calaanan, EDSA, Caloocan City. It will house the region’s DPD officials and personnel who are faced with the task of retrieving, processing and storing all tax returns filed by taxpayers registered with the Revenue District Offices (RDOs) under the jurisdiction of the region namely: RDO No. 24 – Valenzuela City; RDO No. 25A – Plaridel, Bulacan; RDO No. 25B – Sta. Maria, Bulacan; RDO No. 26 – Malabon/Navotas; and RDO No. 27 – Caloocan City.
Regional Director Tomas C. Rosales led the cornerstone laying ceremony graced by the presence of Commissioner Kim S. Jacinto-Henares. Also in attendance were Deputy Commissioners Lilia C. Guillermo, Nelson M. Aspe and Celia C. King, Assistant Commissioner Carolina G. Pesayco, Assistant Regional Director Ma. Gracia B. Javier, Revenue District Officers Renato M. Molina, Rodolfo G. Mendoza, Teogenes T. Abrigo, Jr., Bonifacio L. Caringal and Albino M. Galanza, and other revenue officials and personnel.
The cornerstone laying ceremony was followed by a soft-launch of the DPD office which is temporarily housed at the 4/F JRC Bldg., MacArthur Highway, Malinta, Valenzuela City. The office has a personnel complement of twenty (20) revenue officials and personnel.
During the soft-launch, the attendees were given an overview of the DPD Project, as well as a discussion of its rationale and operations.
The said office is the fourth DPD in the BIR after those established in Revenue Region No. 2 – CAR, Revenue Region No. 7-Quezon City, and Revenue Region No. 9-San Pablo City.
