The Department of Finance’s (DOF) Revenue Office (RO) and support offices have secured their third International Organization for Standardization (ISO) certification, indicating that public service consistently adheres to global standards of quality assurance and business.
“I congratulate our RO and support offices for successfully securing its third ISO certification. This is the kind of quality public service that we at the DOF aim to deliver to the Filipino people. Makakaasa po ang taumbayan na lalo naming pagbubutihin ang aming serbisyo at mas lalo pa po naming ilalapit ang gobyerno sa tao,” Finance Secretary Ralph G. Recto said.
An ISO certification validates that a management system, manufacturing process, service, or documentation procedure has met all the global requirements for standardization and quality assurance.
This certification is issued by the ISO, which is an independent, non-government, international organization that develops standards to ensure the quality, safety, and efficiency of products, services, and systems.
On September 27, 2024, the DOF’s RO and support offices were once again awarded an ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management certification for their process of granting tax exemptions on qualified importations, which will be valid until September 2027.
The offices first achieved their ISO certification in 2017 and were recertified again in 2021.
By securing an ISO certification, the RO and support offices have validated their strong customer focus as evidenced by the excellent customer satisfaction rating that they have consistently obtained since they were certified.
In addition, initiatives for improvement have been in place by continuously streamlining processes, making them more efficient and effective.
The DOF Quality Management System Team is composed of the RO under the leadership of Atty. Sheila N. Castaloni, with Assistant Secretary Angelica I. Sarmiento and Directors Alvin P. Diaz and Lolita R. Verdadero as heads of the support offices.
Meanwhile, top management is represented by Revenue Operations Group (ROG) Undersecretary Charlito Martin R. Mendoza and Policy Development and Management Services Group (PDMSG) Undersecretary Niño Raymond B. Alvina.
