Representatives from the Bureau of the Treasury (BTr), Department of Finance (DOF), and Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) engaged in another courtesy call with Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Benhur Abalos on June 19, 2023 at the Philippine National Police (PNP) National Headquarters in Camp Crame, Quezon City. Secretary Abalos gathered the chiefs of the uniformed personnel to meet the economic team and discuss the military and uniformed personnel (MUP) pension reform.

By virtue of Republic Act No. 6975, the PNP, Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), and Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) all fall under the mantle of the DILG.

The Interior Secretary said that the pension reform is a sensitive issue and therefore must be accorded with utmost consideration, especially for those in the lower ranks.

National Treasurer Rosalia V. De Leon, Deputy Treasurer Erwin D. Sta. Ana, DOF Undersecretaries Maria Cielo D. Magno and Alu C. Dorotan Tiuseco, and GSIS Senior Vice President George S. Ongkeko, Jr. attended the courtesy call.
